Wow, what a first term! It flew by but we managed to cram in an epic amount. Our learning journey had us discovering how the seasons worked, why we have day and night, the phases of the moon and constellations. We researched and wrote about famous Cosmonaut, Neil Armstrong and inspirational Cosmologist, Stephen Hawking as well as Copernicus and Galileo. We ended the term by writing space themed adventure stories which we are currently editing and illustrating for ‘publication’.
In maths we explored place value, rounding to 10, 100 and 1000, addition and subtraction methods and problem solving.
Some of us represented the school at the WHF Values festival and others have earned their pen licences. Many children in Badger class have been celebrated for showing the value of the month in assembly.
Our trip to the theatre rounded up the term beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
This term we are looking forward to continuing our exploration of the ‘Earth and Beyond’. It’s been a super start already with some truly fantastic homework projects and presentations!
Look out for a letter about our trip to the planetarium and a ‘Space dress up’ day to celebrate the end of one of our favourite topics!
