Term four was yet another jam packed term full of learning and fun! Both World Book day and Sports relief were great successes. The costumes were amazing and we all thoroughly enjoyed our world record attempt at being part of the biggest quiz.
We have spent this term looking at the Vikings. We found out about their customs, their Gods and their battle techniques. The children wrote fabulous diaries as Viking men, woman and children. We have continued to read ‘How to train your dragon’ as a class and used the story as inspiration to write and illustrate our own dragon adventures.
Our Science learning focussed on the WHF Science festival. The theme was ‘How are we green’ and Badger and Otter class decided to look at water usage. We got together to raise £63 for Water Aid by making a human pipeline around the school. We ended our water day by learning a great water cycle song with a VERY catchy tune!
In maths we have worked on our knowledge of fractions, decimals and percentage as well as rounding and estimating. We are also trying to master our times tables to 12×12!
We were lucky enough to have two theatre companies come to school this term. The brilliant ‘Macbeth Curse’ was performed by Prime theatre – the children were completely transfixed by it. We then had StoryBox theatre performing ‘The Snow Queen’. We were all enthralled by this puppetry adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale.
Lastly, our P.E activity day was a great success. The children took part in activities such as skipping, volleyball and Boccia. Fun had all round. We can’t quite believe that we crammed all of this into five weeks!
