A very busy start to this term as we prepared for our class assembly! The children worked extremely hard to remember all of their lines, the songs and all of their acting. The assembly flowed without a hitch- great credit due to all of the children.
Term 5 has seen the introduction of our new topic- France, where we have been learning about the landscape and culture of this European country. We have combined this with our French language lessons, where we have so far focussed on the names of the continents and countries of the world. The children thoroughly enjoyed their ‘Airport Experience’ joining in wholeheartedly with the role play.
In Science we have begun our learning about States of Matter. We have already investigated what the three states of matter are and how matter can change from one state to another using chocolate!
ICT has seen the introduction of the Garage Band i-pad App. We have been using a variety of instruments, and have learned to set the chords to enable us to play along to well known popular songs (plus having a sing-along!). We will also be creating our own songs!
We have been very lucky to receive coaching in Rounders this term, provided by a professional coach! It was very impressive to see the children’s skills develop from ‘how to hold the bat correctly’ to playing a whole game- well done Otter Class.
The term ended with our inclusion to the Earth Summit event at Coleshill. The events focussed on our need for a sustainable environment with the children taking part in a variety of workshops.
