In term 2 we did Bread Market Research as part of our D&T unit. We had great fun analysing taste, texture, smell & appearance.
What a fast term we have had! Christmas is upon us and we are getting ready for a new year already.
The children have all worked so hard on their performance this term, learning so many songs and lines and even remembered to smile! We hope you all enjoyed their version of ‘Are We Nearly There Yet…?’ as much as we did. You probably even know some of the songs by now. We’d like to say a big thanks to you for providing such amazing costumes and coming to watch the children.
We also had great fun this term exploring the tale of The Gruffalo. We learned that he actually attacked Swindon and it was in the paper! We learnt lots about adjectives and noun phrases as we described the characters and wrote our own stories.
We then got to actually meet the owl from the story! We loved seeing the owls in school and watching them fly across the room. We learned lots of facts too but it wasn’t quite as much fun as investigating the owl pellets!
We have continued to learn about e-safety and have started to make a short film to explain to others how to stay safe online. Look out for our creations on the website when we have finished them in the New Year.
We have really enjoyed learning about bread and how it starts as a grain. We loved finding out about yeast and watching it blow up balloons. Then of course we got to design and make our own bread & the best bit was to eat it!
We’ve loved our football session with STFC even if it has been freezing outside! Our coach Dan has taught us some great new skills and how to be positive in PE and in all our lessons.
After all our hard work we think everyone deserves a rest so no homework is being sent home for these holidays! May we also say a huge Thank-you for all the lovely thoughtful gifts we received for Christmas!
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We shall see you in 2017!
