Wow, what a fantastic end to the year in Squirrels Class! We have enjoyed doing so many different things this term and have kept busy.
We loved learning about African masks and then designed and made our own. Do you know that many masks are used in important celebrations? We loved using bright colours and pipe cleaners for hair.
We loved learning about Akimbo the African adventurer and followed his stories in our class reading books. We then went on to describe Akimbo and plan and write our own stories for a new adventure.
As we thought about the White Horse Federation raising money for the Shamrock School in Nepal by cycling around the country we enjoyed raising our own money with our sponsored cycles in school. We also looked at the journey from here to Nepal and which countries we may see on the way. We learned about The Netherlands, the things we might see there and even tried some Dutch Stroop waffles! YUM!
Finally our last week of term has been all about fun and fitness. We understand how important it is to stay healthy and we can do it in so many ways. How will you be fit and have fun in the holidays?
We’d also like to say how very proud we are of all the achievements in Squirrels class this year. We are so impressed with how far everyone has come and will be sad to see you go.
A huge thank you for all our lovely gifts and cards, you are all very kind!
Enjoy your holidays, have lots of fun and good luck for the next adventures in Year 3!
We enjoyed giving directions to Wally to move him around a grid. We used left and right quarter turns and half turns to help him find his hat!
After learning about African Masks and designing our own we finally go to finish them today. Do they look scary or funny?
