Yet another busy and exciting term to end our year in Otter Class! Art, in all its forms, was a focal point at the beginning of the term, with the children being involved in a variety of art activities using Hokusai’s ‘The Great Wave’ as the stimulus.
We used watercolours to paint our own interpretations of the painting and our Literacy talents to produce poems and short stories, a selection of which is on display in the school hall. We also joined in with the rest of the school to work on the amazing mosaic which you can see by the school entrance. For the TWHF Arts Festival the children created amazing star and glitter T-shirts as our entry into the sewing competition.
To end the term, the children’s art work was displayed at our very own Art Exhibition during Open Evening- we were all so proud to see such a variety of art work displayed so professionally!
A visit from The Ned Show inspired many of the children in Otter Class to practice their yo-yo skills- new tricks were learnt surprisingly quickly!
Using all of our maths skills we joined with the children in Badger class to plan, prepare and run our own mini fete- it was a huge success- thank you for all of your support.
Our class trip to the Roman Villa at Chedworth was a great success, we were able to support all that we had learnt about the Romans in school with first hand experiences.
The last week of term was our ‘Fun Fitness Week’, where we were able to try out various sports including Archery, Skipping, Golf and many more- this was thoroughly enjoyed by us all.
Thank you to the children of Otter Class for a wonderful year. I hope you all enjoy a restful and joyful summer holiday.
