What a fast term we have had! Christmas is upon us and we are getting ready for a new year already.
The children have all worked so hard on their performance this term, learning so many songs and lines and even remembered to smile! We hope you all enjoyed their version of ‘Tinsel and Tea towels’ as much as we did. You probably even know some of the songs by now. We’d like to say a big thanks to you for providing such amazing costumes and coming to watch the children.
We also had great fun this term exploring the traditional tale of Red Riding Hood. The Wolf himself came along to meet us and actually revealed the truth about Little Red! We learnt lots about adjectives and noun phrases as we described the characters and wrote our own stories.
We carried on the traditional tale theme as we read Hansel & Gretel and got a letter from the witch’s daughter. She had nowhere to live after the children ate her mother’s house! Luckily Squirrels class were able to design and make a new gingerbread house for her to live in! On no – actually they got eaten too!
We have continued to learn about e-safety and have started to make a short film to explain to others how to stay safe online. Look out for our creations on the website when we have finished them in the New Year.
After all our hard work we think everyone deserves a rest so no homework is being sent home for these holidays! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year. We shall see you in 2016!
