Wow, what another busy term in Squirrel Class. We have enjoyed doing so many different things this term. We have been studying the country of India and have enjoyed sending and receiving letters from a penfriend in India. We have enjoyed writing to her about weather, our school day, walk to school and telling her about our houses. We have enjoyed looking at Indian clothes and some of us have tried them on. We have tasted Indian food, learnt some Punjabi and we have done some Bollywood Dancing.
In art lessons we continued to think about India and have drawn and coloured tiger’s eyes and peacocks. We used oil pastels and very carefully have a go at blending colours together.
We were lucky enough to take part in a fire safety talk where we all learnt all about fire safety. We learnt so many new things to help keep us safe. Did you know that you should check your fire alarm every week?
We enjoyed looking at symmetry and reflection in maths and then used this new skill to create our own pieces of Indian inspired art.
We completed our coding unit in computing and can now all use computer language and algorithms to make our very own apps! We saved our own and then had a go on each others – we loved them.
All the Year 2 staff have been very proud of you all this term after completing your SAT’s. You all tried your best and really showed off everything you have learnt. I hope you have all enjoyed completed the homework challenges which have given you a break from ‘normal’ homework!
Remember to keep checking Twitter as we are always posting about Squirrel Class.
Enjoy your holidays and we will see you in Term 6.
