Wow! What a busy term we’ve had. As Scientists we have had to look very closely at details on plants and flowers to help us describe and name them. This skill came in very useful again when we drew our own Sunflowers in the style of Van Gogh. We created some amazing pictures and included lots of beautiful detail. We set up Science experiments looking at what grass needs to grow and enjoyed looking for different micro habitats around the school grounds.
We had a visit from some bees and got to learn so much about how they help the pollination of flowers and how that actually helps us and the environment.
We had great fun reading & spotting rhymes in our story ‘Superworm’ and it gave us some lovely ideas to write our own stories. We found talking about our work and planning it carefully really helped us.
We have also had to follow lots of commands as we learnt about imperative verbs and instruction texts. We followed pictorial instructions to make our own Superworm and then wrote instructions.
We enjoyed the European day of languages and with the help of Andra – we learnt some Romanian. We also tried some Romanian food! Not surprisingly the Romanian doughnuts – Gogoși were voted the favourite food!
We all look forward to next term and continuing our learning and fun!
