This term Honeybee Class have had a few visitors come to see us.
Betty came to visit us and we learnt how you care for a dog. We produced some excellent writing on the recount of Betty’s visit and how to look after a dog! Dan from Zoolab also came to visit us. He brought in some mini-beasts and a rat! The children tried very hard using their Phonics and their ‘best’ writing to write him a thank you letter for coming to visit us. The children were fascinated by the Fizz Pop Science Experience during Science week.
In Science week, the children listened to the 'Messy Magpie' story and discussed what they could remember from the ‘Bin It’ recycling workshop that they had earlier on in the year. The children were super at sorting the items to be recycled and produced some lovely pieces of work too of what can be recycled. The class discussed how we can be more environmentally friendly and the children came up with lots of good ideas. Afterwards, the children wrote up their ‘Eco’ pledge on a leaf that is now displayed in school.
In Maths the children have been busy exploring. They now know how to estimate before measuring using a ruler in cm and measure using non-standardised objects such as cubes. The children thoroughly enjoyed measuring items around the classroom and also their shoes!
The children had fun dressing-up as their favourite character for World Book day and wearing something red for Red Nose Day.
Honeybee Class have also been working extremely hard on learning their lines this term and making sure that they use their big voices for the class assembly.
