Term 5 has flown by and the Jaguars class have been very busy. Firstly – congratulations to Year 6 for successfully navigating their SATs exams. They all tried really hard and did a great job – well done.
During Term 5 the Jaguars produced some amazing writing linked to our book – ‘The Viewer’, we have produced a newspaper report and persuasive letter and a story. As well as producing some great writing the Jaguars have also continued developing the maths skills – particularly problem solving and puzzle investigations.
Term 5 saw Haydon Wick host a science festival – Jaguars produced a great study on electricity and lemons. We created a practical experiment that tested if different fruits were able to produce electricity.
Our new topic is Mexico and the Maya. This is a fascinating period of history and we have begun to research this ancient civilisation. We have started to learn about their customs, culture, famous rulers and their sports! This culminated in the Jaguars playing and modern day version of Poc-a-Toc – very similar to football but we had to get the ball through a hoop.
