Term two has been a cracker. The children have settled into year 3 life and have really begun to show how fabulous they are.
We have really enjoyed writing instructions for lighting a camp fire, especially as we had another go at lighting fires in our forest school sessions. We also wrote our own Beast Quest adventure stories and poems about robins based on Michael Morporgo’s book, ‘Coming Home.’
In Maths, we have practised our addition and subtraction methods. It was tricky at first but we cracked it because we worked so hard.
We completed our Science investigations into rock formation and fossils. We’re starting term 3 with a fossil day just to wrap things up nicely.
Our preparations for Christmas were lovely. The children worked really hard at learning the concert songs and they sang beautifully. The artwork they produced for their calendars and cards was just lovely.
We really enjoyed our reading treat day and are already on the way to earning another. Every book read helps us on our way.
Looking forward, we will be starting a new topic in the new year – Stone Age to Iron Age.
