The end of term 3 has come so quickly!
We have been so busy learning new things that the 7 weeks has flown by.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about Florence Nightingale and just seem to know so many facts now. They have been able to use this knowledge in their writing and have produced some super letters, diary extracts and non-chronological reports.
They loved starting the topic off with a visit from Florence herself! They really got into character and imagined being nurses or soldiers.
The children have been able to describe the key changes Florence made to the way our hospitals work today. They also compared her work to Mary Seacole and looked at how brave Mary Seacole was to be so close to the fighting.
In Science Traction Man has helped us think about materials and how to choose which material is most suited to an item. Next term he will be helping us learn about carrying out experiments on materials.
We are delighted with the progress the children have made in maths this term and are showing some super understanding of multiplication and division. Next term we will use this knowledge to help us with fractions.
In computing we have continued to think about and discuss being safe online and recognised the importance of Safer Internet Day. Children created their own PowerPoints to explain how to stay safe and be kind online. They included some whizzy animations too!
We hope everyone has a super half term holiday and we are looking forward to the next term and all the learning to come.
Many Thanks for all your ongoing support!
