The end of term 3 came so quickly! We have been so busy learning new things that the 6 weeks just flew by.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Great Fire of London and just seem to know so many facts now. They have been able to use this knowledge in their writing and have produced some super poems, diary extracts and non-chronological reports.
We carried the topic on in D&T and designed and made our very own fire engines complete with axles and moving wheels. We hear Traction Man gave them a few ideas about which materials to use after all his Science lessons. We also produced some super Power Point presentations showing the main facts about the fire.
To consolidate our historical understanding we went on a super trip to Tewksbury to enable to past to really come to life.
We are also delighted with the progress the children have made in maths this term and are showing secure understanding of multiplication and division.
We hope everyone had a super half term holiday and we are now looking forward to the new term and all the learning to come.
Look out for some Space and Star Wars references as we start a topic called ‘Dare to be Different’! We will be thinking about always being brave enough to be yourself and follow your dreams and ideas!
Our class assembly is this term on Friday 22nd March so some parts and costume ideas will be coming home very soon.
Many thanks for all your support and welcome back!
