Squirrels Term 6 Class Update

So Year 2 has come to an end and what an amazing term and year we have had!

We can’t believe how far we all the children have come this year – what amazing achievements from everyone!

In term 5 we loved learning about Akimbo the African adventurer and followed his stories in our class reading books. We then went on to describe Akimbo and plan and write our own stories for a new adventure. We loved creating our own vibrant African art including some very friendly giraffes and colourful water carriers. We thoroughly enjoyed learning some African dances and songs an even got to perform one at our own school festival ‘Glastonwick’!

In term 6 we thought about Fairtrade and found out where lots of our food comes from. We designed and made an ECO pizza which was very good for the planet – and it tasted amazing!! We followed the life of a banana and then made our own banana bird.

We have also really enjoyed reading some Roald Dahl stories including Fantastic Mr Fox. Did you know he had a cheeky cousin called Super Mr Squirrel?!

We’d also like to say how very proud we are of all the achievements in Squirrels class this year. We are so impressed with how far everyone has come and will be sad to see you go.

A huge thank you for all our lovely gifts and cards, you are all very kind!

Enjoy your holidays, have lots of fun, READ LOTS and good luck for the next adventures in Year 3!
