Hello and a warm welcome from Mrs Hambidge and Mrs Eaglestone
We are very excited to be working with your child in Frogs Class. Mrs Hambidge will be teaching Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Eaglestone will be teaching on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Teaching Assistants that will be working in Frogs Class this year are Miss Remnant, Mrs Bulley, Mrs Hawkins and Mrs Inns.
Topics this Year
Term 1 – All about Me
Term 2 – Polar Express
Term 3 – Once Upon a Time
Term 4 – Dinosaurs
Term 5 – Blast Off!
Term 6 – Green Fingers
A brief outline of the themes we hope to cover each week will be on the class web page listed and also displayed on the cloakroom door in school.
Children are welcome into the classroom as soon as the cloakroom door is opened by a member of staff. The cloakroom does get very crowded in the mornings so we ask you to encourage the children to be as independent as possible please. The register is taken at 8.45am each day.
Home time Routine
We will stand with the children at the classroom door and let them go when we see you in the playground. If your child is going to after school club, or is being collected by someone other than yourself please record this on the board just inside the cloakroom door.
Please make sure ALL items of clothing are clearly labelled including PE kit. Please do send in jogging bottoms and trainers so that we can continue to access outdoor PE in the colder months.
Our regular PE lessons will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We will also have specialist PE coaching from Premier Sports on a Wednesday in Term 3, 5 and 6. Please do ensure that your child has a complete PE kit on these days so that they don’t miss out on their learning. Thank you!
It would be helpful if your child could bring a pair of wellies in a named carrier bag to keep on their peg in the cloakroom for wet weather activities and welly walks.
We have a morning snack of fruit, milk or water. Throughout the year we will offer children enrichment activities In order to do this and to cover the cost of these activities we ask for a contribution of £12.00 to cover the whole year OR £2 every term. Please give the money, in a named envelope, to one of the adults in the classroom. Thank you so much for your support.
Please support your child to learn their spellings ready for testing on Fridays. We will also have a ‘pick and mix’ homework based on our topic that will be due in during the penultimate week of term. We will invite you in to share their exciting homework!
We look forward to working with you and your child. If you have any queries please feel free to pop in and see us – after school is usually the most convenient time.
