We have had a very busy term this time and it just seems to have flown by. We had a fantastic time practising for and performing our class assembly about Florence Nightingale. I’m sure you will agree that all the children did a fantastic job!
We then left Florence in 1910 and started learning about Brunel and his railways. The children were able to talk about the influence had on our own town and then got to go and see it in action at the STEAM museum. What a brilliant end to the term!
We have also been Lego crazy and loved describing the characters will noun phrases and adjectives! We have thought about proper nouns as we wrote all the names and thought about speech marks when we recorded the funny things they would say to each other. We also had an amazing time at the Lego party which gave us some super ideas for our own Lego Movie story.
In Maths we have mastered fractions and are now able to find halves, quarters and thirds of numbers. We are sure there will be lots of sharing of Easter eggs into smaller fractions! (or maybe just eating them whole!)
Please try your best to practise the spellings for our sponsored spell. You have the holidays to learn as many as you can and then we will complete a test to check them in week 1.
Have a lovely Easter everyone. Let’s hope we see some sunshine!
