Term 6 has been another busy and exciting time for Jaguars, we’ve been up to all sorts!
In the first week of term, Y6 participated in Junior Good Citizen, they had a really interesting time and learnt all about fire safety, internet safety and railway safety as well as learning other useful information to help them become a good citizen.
We have been studying Mexico and the Maya for our topic this term and had a fantastic morning making and tasting Mexican treats, such as salsa, guacamole and spiced mango, it really got our taste buds going! We also used wool and beads to make Mayan Ojos de Dios with Mrs. Willis, we were really pleased with the results.
On 21st June, our very own Mrs. Heard and Mr. Greenwood cycled into school as part of the WHF Values Cycle Challenge. They cycled about 200 miles and visited all White Horse schools to raise money for The Shamrock School in Nepal. We did some fundraising in school too!
We have been rehearsing for our end of year play which is related to one of the topics we have studied this year : The Victorians. We have enjoyed learning lots of the songs from the musical Oliver and sang them really well for the school and our parents.
Well, we can’t quite believe we’ve actually made it to the end of the year! We’ve been enjoying our Sports Week this week, and Y6 are getting excited about moving on to Secondary School, we wish them lots of luck in their new schools.
Have a great summer, see you in September.
