Wow! This year just gets more and more exciting, with your children happily taking on every new challenge! World Book day brought many of our favourite book characters to life in the classroom! Thank you for all of the wonderful book donations. Our Sport Relief event was thoroughly enjoyed by all, though I have to say I wish I had bought a scooter with me!
Through the term, we have continued our learning about Invaders with our main focus being on the Vikings. The children used what they had learnt about the lives of Vikings to write very pleasing and informative Diary entries as a Viking child.
In preparation for the visiting Theatre production of Macbeth, we read the story together, and the children wrote a discussion between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, which, with their computing skills, they presented in the form of a comic strip. These will be on display in the classroom- please feel free to come in and take a look at the end of any school day.
Our Science learning focussed on the WHF Science Festival, where we looked at ‘Using Water Wisely’. We joined together with Badger class to make a human pipeline to transport water all of the way around the school track, taking care not to spill any! We learnt about the Water Cycle through song.
On the last Wednesday of term, the whole school took part in a variety of PE activities, including Volleyball, Skipping and Boccia. Great Fun was enjoyed by all!
To close an enjoyable and hectic term, we ended with a wonderful retelling of the story The Snow Queen, brought to us by The StoryBox Theatre.
What an amazing way to spend our last afternoon in school before the Easter break! We were visited by StoryBox Theatre where the story of The Snow Queen was brought to life for us all by the amazing story telling skills of Rod Burnett and his puppets.
Children and adults alike were enthralled by this puppetry adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s beautiful tale. Live theatre at school!
