Today marks the first day of Children’s Mental Health Week, and Haydon Wick Primary School is taking the opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues among children. We believe it’s important to do everything we can to remove the stigma that can surround mental health issues.
Children's Mental Health Week is taking place on 7-13 February 2022. This year's theme is Growing Together. During the week the children will be participating in activities in their classes to help them understand how we grow emotionally and how we can look for ways to help each other grow. On Friday 11th February there will be a non-uniform day, with the theme ‘Dress to Express’. More about Children’s Mental health Week can be found on the Place2Be website: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/
At Haydon Wick Primary School, we have provisions in place to support pupils experiencing mental health problems and always encourage them to seek help when they need it. We’ve also recently updated our guidance to staff.
