Wow! What a busy term we’ve had. We have been Darwin’s discoverers and investigated plants all around us – with the help of a very special worm too! As Scientists we have had to look very closely at details on plants and flowers to help us describe and name them. This skill came in very useful again when we drew our own Sunflowers in the style of Van Gogh. We created some amazing pictures and included lots of beautiful detail. We set up Science experiments looking at what grass needs to grow and enjoyed looking for different micro habitats around the school grounds.
We had great fun reading & spotting rhymes in our story ‘Superworm’ and it gave us some lovely ideas to write our own stories. We found talking about our work and planning it carefully really helped us.
We have also had to follow lots of commands as we learnt about imperative verbs and instruction texts. We followed pictorial instructions to make our own Superworm and then wrote instructions. Have you ever wondered what a bug and beetle sandwich tasted like? Well Squirrels class can tell you!
We enjoyed French Day and being taught some French with Mrs Eaglestone. We learnt the French words for different parts of the plant. We also tried some French cheese, bread and chocolate! It was yummy!
We all look forward to next term and continuing our learning and fun!
