Wow, what a fantastic end to the year in Squirrels Class! We have enjoyed doing so many different things this term and have kept busy.
We loved learning to sew as we made our Indian rod puppets with the wooden spoons. It was a little frustrating at times but we all persevered! We then came up with our own Indian stories and got to use our puppets in our own show.
We thought very carefully as we considered the UN Rights of the Child and had some interesting discussions on what we think every child needs. It fitted in perfectly to our work in school on Values and we were able to discuss how every child should be treated in school.
We have also had a think about Tim Peake as he returned to Earth and read Bob (The Man on The Moon). We enjoyed designing rockets and making aliens! We had great fun making our own films with stop frame animations showing Bob’s journey to the moon! Some of our videos are shown below.
Thank you all for coming along to our amazing art exhibition showing some of our Indian Peacocks but also our mixed media paintings inspired by ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’. We really loved seeing our work in frames and sharing our creativity! We would also like to say how very proud we are of all the achievements in Squirrels class this year. We are so impressed with how far everyone has come and will be sad to see you go.
A huge thank you for all our lovely gifts, you are all very kind! Enjoy your holidays, have lots of fun and good luck for the next adventures in Year 3!
