School Uniforms
Our policy for school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:
- Promotes a sense of pride in the school.
- Engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school.
- Is practical and smart.
- Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.
- Is regarded as suitable wear for school and is considered by parents as good value for money.
- Is designed with health and safety in mind.

Haydon Wick Uniform
Please ensure all items of clothing are labelled with your child’s name.
Boys
- White shirt / polo shirt *
- Charcoal grey trousers *
- Maroon jumper
- Maroon fleece (optional as a coat)
- Black shoes *
Girls
- White blouse / polo shirt *
- Charcoal grey trousers / skirt / pinafore dress *
- Maroon jumper or cardigan
- Maroon fleece (optional as a coat)

Pupils are permitted to wear the following items of clothing during the summer months:
- Boys - Charcoal grey shorts *
- Girls - Summer dress (red and white) *
Items marked with an * can be bought from supermarkets / clothing stores.
PE Kit
The Haydon Wick PE kit consists of:
- A coloured t-shirt (red/green/yellow/blue). Available from the school office.
- Black shorts (boys and girls) / skort (girls) *
- Maroon or black jogging bottoms (for colder weather) *
- Black daps or trainers *
Items marked with an * can be bought from supermarkets / clothing stores.
A lost property box will be available in the office should any missing uniform items be recovered.
Additional Notes
Jewellery should be kept to a minimum. It is fine to wear jewellery due to a religious belief.
Earrings should be small stud earrings. Hoop earrings are not allowed as they are a risk during PE lessons and at playtime.
Nail varnish and makeup are not permitted in school, unless with the express permission of the principal.
If, for cultural reasons, parents wish their child to wear a particular type of clothing during the school day, this is absolutely fine. Examples include a turban, headscarf, or a PE kit that includes longer length trousers.

Second-hand uniform
Purchasing second-hand school uniforms is budget-friendly and eco-conscious. Here are some suggestions:
- School Office / PTA: Check with the school office to find out how to purchase pre-loved uniform.
- Charity Shops: Visit local charity shops that may carry school uniforms.
- Online Marketplaces: Use sites like eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and dedicated uniform exchange platforms.
- Community Groups: Join local social media groups where parents sell or trade uniforms.
These suggestions can help save money and support sustainability.
