Spelling Expectations – Spellings will be set weekly on a Monday and will be tested on the Friday. Children must make sure their Purple Mash homework is completed by the Friday.

Reading Expectations – Please read with your child at home as much as possible and pop any comments into their reading records. It is important that children read and talk about their books to help them with their reading fluency!

TTRS – In Year 6 it is still really important to continue building on times table knowledge as almost every maths topic uses them! Please use TTRS to build on these skills. It should be used at least twice a week! Around 20 minutes a week is enough and this will be checked weekly.

Homework – This will mostly be spellings, TTRS and their choice of activity from the ‘pick and mix’ sheet. Year 6 will also be set weekly additional homework in preparation for SATS. Year 6 homework will go out on Friday’s and will be due in the following Thursday.

PE – This year, our PE days will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Please make sure your child has the correct PE kits with them for their PE days.

PPA – My PPA afternoon is on Thursday, so the children will have Mrs Cowley. She will teach them computing, RE and music.

Please keep an eye on our Class Dojo page and check your child’s school bag for important letters and updates throughout the year. Please also ensure that children come to school with a labelled water bottle.

My door is always open, so feel free to pop in or message me on Class Dojo if you have any questions. I’m here to help!
