Haydon Wick’s World Book Day was a huge success, with all of the activities contributing to a fun, educational, and interactive experience for all the children.

  1. Dressing Up: The children loved dressing up as their favourite book characters and sharing with their classes who they were and why they chose to come to school dressed like this.
  2. Book Tasting with Yellow Lighted Bookshop: Partnering with a local bookstore like Yellow Lighted Bookshop in Tetbury was a lovely activity. The children loved exploring new books and genres in a "tasting" format and then many children purchased a new book.
  3. Partner Reading with Another Class: The children loved working with another class and sharing stories. It was lovely to see the younger children feel supported by older students while giving older students a chance to be role models and improve their own reading skills.
  4. Sharing Favourite Books: The children had the chance to share their favourite books with their friends. They enjoyed sharing why they love this story and sharing the story with them.
